Our good friends Dave and Christi Gonzales welcomed their little boy Tyler Joseph into the world on October 27, 2008. He weighed 8lbs 15oz and is 21.5 inches long and is just perfect. The family is doing great and we are so excited for them to join us in parenthood! They are going to be such great parents!
Being a mom has by far been the most rewarding job I have ever had, however as Elle is quickly approaching her 1st Birthday, I cant help but miss the old me. I miss the hustle bustle of having a career and adult interaction on a daily bases but more than anything I miss the gratification of a fat paycheck! :) But on the other hand it would kill me to have someone else spend more time with Elle than I would be able to if I were to go back to the corporate world. So for the last few months I have been racking my brain to try to think of something that would satisfy all of my needs....and there was only one answer....to become a MOMPRENEUR! :)
....so I did it...but not alone. With the inspiration of my daughter and the drive and encouragement of my Husband we started a new business. For the last two months we have been creating and tweaking our own little brand, creating the product, beginning the build of a website, researching and contacting baby boutiques and recruiting help.
The main product of Halo Couture, for the time being are handmade letters for kid's bedrooms...but with a twist. I was tired of seeing such boring letters in baby boutiques selling for $35 bucks a piece...so it all started by making my own for Elle. I use sheik colors and create a unique a customized look with vintage buttons and jewels.....I Glam'ed things up a bit....and when my husband brought it up to a local boutique owner...and they were more than interested, I realized we had something! We are so excited and pleased with the launch of our new endeavor and excited to see what the future holds for our little biz. For now look for us in your local baby boutiques ( I will post a list of where u can find us) but also stay tuned for our own Online Baby Boutique as for now our product consists of the Halo Couture letters but we are working with some designers and will be adding Couture Onsies, Beanies, Bibs and hand stitched vintage bunnies.....stay tuned...

Here are a few pics of the beginning of our production, just to give you an idea until the product shots get added to the website.
We spent the afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch with some of our friends. All the kids dressed up and got a chance to climb around all of the pumpkins. We went on a train ride and just enjoyed hanging out with everyone. It is hard to believe that Halloween is around the corner, which means the holiday season is upon us....next will be Elle's first birthday and that is crazy to say the least! She will be one before we know it..our baby is growing sooo fast...we are looking forward to the holidays more than ever this year because we get to share them with our little princess...

Elle is 9 months old...and wow what a difference one month makes. She now says Mama, Dada and Baba(of which, Mama is definitely the cutest), she can wave bye-bye and plays peek-a-boo by putting blankets over her face. She is standing up everywhere and has started balancing without holding on to anything. She has three teeth on the bottom and four teeth about half way in on the top.
We can already tell she is going to be a little smarty pants, she catches on to things VERY quickly. The other day I was laying with her on the chaise lounge in her room...she was tired but not ready to sleep, so we laid there talking. She was fascinated with my eyelashes and kept wanting to touch them. When she would touch them I would say "eye" and then I would touch hers and say "eye." We did this for a couple of minutes and then she looked over at her little lamb that was also laying next to us and reached out and pointed to its eye...and then looked at me with her finger still pointing! I smiled at her and confirmed that that was her lambs eye and she grinned back at me, like I know...I'm smart.....I tell you she is a GENIUS BABY!!! She steals my heart more and more every day!

Sean and I are both Leo's...our Bday's are 6 days apart, which makes August soooo much fun! This year it seemed as though we pretty much celebrated all month. We had such a fun August it is sad that it is already over. I am so lucky to have such a great hubby and so lucky that we get to have to much fun together. Some might think that two Leo's living in the same house could be a little nutty :) but to us, twice the Leo is twice the FUN!

We are so happy that we were able to be a part of Chris and Amy's beautiful day. They were married in Maui at an old plantation house on the water. The setting couldn't have been more gorgeous. They are such an awesome couple and we are so happy to have them as part of our family. We had such a great time and are so happy for the two of them.

We had so much fun in Hawaii. We went to Maui for Sean's brothers wedding and while we were there we also decided to go visit our friend Ashley on Oahu. It was such a nice vacation. Maui was gorgeous and Oahu was so much fun. We spent our days snorkeling, surfing, paddle boarding and exploring the islands and at night we enjoyed wonderful dinners and had our share of Mai Tai's! Elle was in heaven...she got to swim everyday and came home with the best baby tan I have ever seen! :) We love Hawaii and can't wait till we go back...which if Sean has anything to do with it we will be back very soon! :)
